We bring brilliant engineers joining Academia and Industry to present and discuss relevant topics for the technological community. This year, we will have Blockchain, Federated Learning and IoT.

Yan Zhang

Yan Zhang is currently a Full Professor with the Department of Informatics, University of Oslo, Norway. His research interests include next-generation wireless networks leading to 6G, green and secure cyber-physical systems. Dr. Zhang is an Editor (or Area Editor, Senior Editor, Associate Editor) for several IEEE transactions/magazine, including IEEE Network Magazine, IEEE Transactions on Green Communications and Networking, IEEE Transactions on Network Science and Engineering, IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics, IEEE Communications Survey and Tutorials, IEEE Internet of Things Journal, IEEE Systems Journal, IEEE Vehicular Technology Magazine, and IEEE Blockchain Technical Briefs. He is a symposium/track chair in a number of conferences, including IEEE ICC 2021, IEEE SmartGridComm 2021, and IEEE Globecom 2017. He is the Chair of IEEE Communications Society Technical Committee on Green Communications and Computing (TCGCC). He is an IEEE Communications Society Distinguished Lecturer and IEEE Vehicular Technology Society Distinguished Speaker. He was an IEEE Vehicular Technology Society Distinguished Lecturer during 2016-2020. Since 2018, Prof. Zhang was a recipient of the global “Highly Cited Researcher” Award (Web of Science top 1% most cited worldwide). He is Fellow of IEEE, Fellow of IET, elected member of Academia Europaea (MAE), elected member of the Royal Norwegian Society of Sciences and Letters (DKNVS), and elected member of Norwegian Academy of Technological Sciences (NTVA).

Leopoldo Angrisani

Leopoldo Angrisani is Full Professor of Electrical and Electronic Measurements with the Department of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering of the University of Naples Federico II, Italy. He is also General Manager/Director of CeSMA – Center of Advanced Measurement and Technology Services and member of the Board of the Ph.D. Program on Information Technology and Electrical Engineering of University of Naples Federico II.
His research activity is currently focused on communication systems and networks test and measurement; measurements for Internet of Things applications; compressive sampling based measurements; measurements for Industry 4.0; measurement uncertainty.
He was and is currently involved in many industrial research projects, in cooperation with small, medium and great enterprises, for which he played and is currently playing the role of scientific coordinator. He is currently playing a relevant role in designing and developing the strategic pillars on which the national Competence Center on Industry 4.0, MedITech, led by Federico II University and geographically located in the South of Italy, is going to be based.
He is Fellow Member of the IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement and Communications Societies, Chair of the IEEE Instrumentation & Measurement Society Italy Chapter, Honorary Chairman of the first edition (M&N 2019) of the IEEE International Symposium on Measurements & Networking 2019, General Chairman of the second edition (MetroInd4.0&IoT 2019) of the IEEE International Workshop on Metrology for Industry 4.0 and IoT 2019. He was one of the promoters of the TC-37 "Measurements and Networking" technical committee of the IEEE Instrumentation & Measurement Society and General Chairman of the first (M&N2011), second (M&N2013), third (M&N2015) and fourth edition (M&N2017) of the IEEE International Workshop on Measurements & Networking. He is Representative of Italy in the IEC Validation Team-VT 60050 for maintenance and management of the International Electrotechnical Vocabulary and member of the Italian Association "GMEE-Electrical and Electronic Measurements Group", of CNIT, National Inter-university Consortium for Telecommunications, of the Technical Committee CT 1/25 "Terminology, Quantities and Units" of CEI (Italian Electrotechnical Committee).
He is corresponding member of the Accademia Pontaniana in Naples, the oldest Italian academy, with almost 600 years of history, which has always brought together renowned Neapolitan scholars.
In 2009, he was awarded the IET Communications Premium for the paper entitled "Performance measurement of IEEE 802.11b-based networks affected by narrowband interference through cross-layer measurements" (published in IET Communications, vol. 2, No. 1, January 2008).
In 2013, he was awarded the prestigious recognition "IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement Outstanding Reviewer".
The IEEE Instrumentation & Measurement Society Italy Chapter, which he has been chairing since 2015, was awarded in 2016 the prestigious recognition "I&M Society Best Chapter Award" by the IEEE Instrumentation & Measurement Society, in 2017 the prestigious recognition "Most Improved Membership Chapter for 2016" and in 2018 the prestigious recognition "Most Innovative Chapter 2018" by the IEEE Italy Section.
He is the author or co-author of more than 330 international scientific articles, one-third of which published in relevant international journals with impact factor.

Antonio Luque holds the position of Associate Professor (tenured) in the Department of Electronics Engineering, University of Seville. He has authored 20 journal papers, 40 conference papers, 3 book chapters, and a text book, in addition to supervising two PhD students. He has been invited researcher and teacher at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (Switzerland), Auburn University (AL, USA), Delft University of Technology (Netherlands), Jade University (Germany), Harbin Institute of Technology (China) and Tech Institute of Monterrey (Mexico). In IEEE he is currently serving, among other positions, as 2021-2022 Director of Region 8 (Europe, Middle East, and Africa).

Gonçalo completed his BS in Informatics and Computer Engineering at the University of Coimbra (FCTUC). In his spare time, Gonçalo works at a small after school program for students ages 11-18 interested in learning about programming and computer science.

Sascha Eichstädt has been with PTB, the German National Metrology Institute, since 2008, where he is leading the Department 'Metrology for digital transformation'. Sascha holds a PhD in theoretical physics and is interested in topics such as measurement uncertainty, signal processing, Internet of Things and sensor network metrology. He is the convenor of the EURAMET working group Metrology for Digital Transformation under the Technical Committee for Interdisciplinary Metrology. Sascha is also the Chair of the IMEKO Technical Committee "Digitalisation".

Riccardo Roggeri is the CEO and Founder of Techinnova S.p.A., an innovative startup incubator certified by the Italian Ministry of Economic Development (Ministero dello Sviluppo Economico).
He has a bachelor degree in Biology, an MBA and PhD in "Technological innovation for agri-food and environmental sciences" and also attends 23 courses post-degree in different economic subjects.
He started his career as a researcher in genetics. In 2007, he founded his first company: Techinnova. Soon after, he founded other seven companies in different sector such as IT, IoT, Pharma, Environment and communication.
Since 2015, he became an evaluator for Eurostars, Eureka and SME Instruments.
He is the founder of the "Fondazione Cluster Technologies per le Smart Cities & Communities" of Lombardy Region, "Distretto Agricolo delle Risaie Lomelline" based in Mortara, and two network of Companies: SIAS and Omnes.
He coordinates a network of more than 400 public and private R&D subjects distributed across Europe.
